Social Media Committee

About This Committee

AWL's Social Media Committee is the organisation's digital communications engine. It manages AWL's presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook — translating the work of AWL's advocacy committees, events programme, and leadership into content that is accessible, engaging, and reflective of AWL's values and voice.

In a legal landscape where public discourse increasingly happens online, AWL's social media presence is not just about visibility; it is about amplification. When AWL submits a parliamentary representation, holds a watching brief, launches a campaign, or hosts a conference, the Social Media Committee ensures that the work reaches the women lawyers, law students, policymakers, and members of the public who need to hear it.

What We Do

  • Content Strategy: Developing and managing AWL's content calendar across platforms — coordinating with issue committees, the Events Committee, and AWL leadership to ensure consistent, timely, and purposeful posting.

  • Campaigns: Producing original content for AWL's campaigns. Content is designed to be shareable, visually coherent with AWL's brand identity, and calibrated for each platform's audience.

  • Events: Managing pre-event promotion, live coverage, and post-event recap content for AWL's full programme of events.

  • Community: Monitoring comments, responding to enquiries, and fostering community engagement across AWL's platforms — nurturing a digital community of women lawyers, law graduates, and allied supporters who follow AWL's work.

  • Brand: Maintaining consistency in AWL's visual brand across all digital touchpoints, ensuring that AWL's communications are recognisable, professional, and accessible.
