Santhi Latha
President: 2021 - 2023

Santhi Latha is a legal education and professional development specialist whose work spans curriculum design, training systems architecture, and strategic consulting across the legal and corporate sectors. Her approach is grounded in the belief that well-designed learning experiences can transform not just individuals but organisations and industries.
Santhi has spent more than a decade contributing to AWL, long before her election as President in 2021. During her two-year term, she focused on expanding AWL's learning and advocacy initiatives and deepening the organisation's engagement with the Malaysian Bar. She was instrumental in establishing the Peer Support Network for the Malaysian Bar, a programme that trains volunteer lawyers to guide survivors of sexual harassment in seeking redress. The Network was launched by the President of the Malaysian Bar on 15 December 2021.
Santhi has contributed to the Malaysian Bar through the Bar Council’s Legal Profession Practical Course Committee (2017–present), Cyber and Privacy Laws Committee (2018–2026), Legal Tech, AI and Sandbox Committee (2021–2026), and Peer Support Network Committee (2019–2026). In 2021, Thomson Reuters published Summum Bonum: The Ultimate Good, a biography she researched, collated, and edited over six years, documenting the life and legacy of Dato Mahadev Shankar, retired Court of Appeal Judge.
She has been recognised by the Asia Law Portal as one of 30 People to Watch in the Business of Law in Asia in 2022 and one of 30 Women Legal Innovators in Asia to Follow in 2022. Prestige Malaysia named her one of their 100 Women of Power in 2022. She is currently a member of the Lex Mundi Talent Community (2023).
