Goh Siu Lin

President: 2015 - 2017


Siu Lin has acted pro bono on briefs concerning inter-faith conversion custody disputes and domestic violence on behalf of the Joint Action Group for Gender Equality, as well as in criminal proceedings related to grooming and sexual offences under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
 
She was part of the inaugural cohort of lawyers trained in collaborative law methodology by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals in the United States, and is a trained trainer in the ethical representation of children in legal proceedings, a programme jointly organised by UNICEF, the Bar Council, and the Canadian Bar Association.

As President of AWL from 2015 to 2017, she deepened the organisation's engagement with family law reform and strengthened AWL's connection to frontline legal aid work.

Goh Siu Lin was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1995 and has maintained an active practice since, with a focus on banking and general litigation, contentious probate, and family law. She was formerly the Deputy Head of the Family, Probate and Trusts Department at Shook Lin and Bok.
