Foo Yet Ngor
President: 2009 - 2011
Foo Yet Ngor was called to the English Bar in 1980 and to the Malaysian Bar in 1982. She was formerly a Partner at Shearn Delamore and is the founding Partner of Y N Foo and Partners, where she has practised principally in the area of family law since 1996. Her practice encompasses both domestic and internationally complex family matters.
Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in the Malaysian Bar and has held a range of committee positions, including Deputy Chair of the Family Law Committee of the Bar Council, Member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Malaysian Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board, and membership of the joint Bar Council and Attorney General's Chambers working committee on the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976. She has also served as amicus curiae on behalf of the Bar Council in a number of landmark family law cases.
As President of AWL from 2009 to 2011, she brought the precision and seniority of a seasoned litigator to the leadership of the organisation, with a particular focus on family law reform and legal education.
